No, the driveshaft issues are not related to drop brackets or control arms. It is due to the angle of long travel set ups and they just were not designed for the amount of droop you will have.

No problem, i began with drop brackets and stock arms in the back @ 3.5". I eventually installed a Synergy highsteer kit.

However I don't wanna dump a lot of cash in track bars, control arms etc. I guess I'm wondering how bad I'll hate life if I only change shocks, springs and links??

I recently got a 4" evo kit with 2.5 kings shocks. If you do a setup like mine, i recommend evo rockstars for the rear shocks to move them up. Get some kind of outboarding shock relocation for the fronts if you get 2.5" shocks so they dont hit the frame. Add front upper control arms like synergy to dial alignment. I got tierod, reverse taper draglink from steer smarts and a synergy trackbar with sector shaft reinforcement. With a trussed d44, chromoly axle shafts and adams front driveshaft my jeep is pretty formidable for rocks and trails.

I have an AEV 3.5" lift. In preparation for my new DynaTrac Unlimited PR44 axle housing, I removed the geo brackets and installed new RK control arms. I can tell the difference in steering without the geo brackets. They do make a difference. I can't wait to get the new axle installed so the angles are correct once again.

I'd sell you my AEV geo brackets cheap. They are straight, with only minor scrapes. I can post pics if interested.

Shoot some pics. I may be interested. This thread has provided a lot of info for me to evaluate. If I do decide to go that route I will def need geo brackets. Thanks for the info.
