Default 4 door springs on 2 doors

I've been searching the forums for awhile now about putting 4 door springs on a Sport 2 door. I currently have #14 springs for the front of my jeep and will be putting in #17s. My best guess on my research here is that I will roughly get 1.5" of lift. Has anyone done this similar set up with a spacer lift? If so, what were your results? I want to order spacers but am very undecided on how tall. I want to go as high as I can without disrupting the exhaust/driveshafts, etc. I think 3/4" is probably my best bet but if I can get away with more I will. just interested in any input/suggestions, I know there are alot of variables. I've run/installed different lifts before but not this method. Thanks.

Some info: 2012, manual, 3.21 gears, mainly DD, most off road includes wooded trails, some mild rocks.

I've been running 3" of true lift for about a year on a DD. I've got adjustable track bars and longer sway links. The rest is pretty much stock. I'm a manual so the driveshafts are surviving so far no torn boot yet.

Originally I did the same swap you are doing only I went with 19/59. I'd say you could add 1" spacers no problem on a street crawler. Off road you won't see any improvement unless you add longer shocks etc.

Good luck on the swap. I loved the look of a more aggressive stock look. Now I'm getting more into my local club off roading so time to upgrade lol.

I ran 2'' spacers for a while but i still had a factory rake so i put the front springs out of a 4 door rubi in and it leveled it out nicely.
I ran 35 inch tires and had no problems .

I originally had 14/55's. Try to find at least 18/59's to 19/60's. I think you will be more satisfied. I installed 19/59's with shocks and take offs from a Rubi. I also added spacers and going to install in the next few weeks Teraflex Leveling Kit. Love the results so far.

Very inexpensive mods. It's kinda like an appetizer before the main course.

I already have #17 springs which is why I wanted to use spacers. I thought the Teraflex leveling kit may have been too much of a lift for the front end (possibly over 3"). But maybe because I have a standard trans. It might work? That's what I'm trying to figure out. I just want to focus on the lift now and then I will dial in the details (shocks, brake lines, track bars) later on. I just dont wan to lower the already low exhaust and will be running 33s for now. Thanks for the input.

So after switching the springs, do you need an alignment?

Really depends. Eddie has a write up in Project JK and is very easy and takes a few minutes. I had someone align mine even though it drove fine.

I don't think it's really necessary. I know I will be aligning the steering wheel if it needs it. I will probably just do a full alignment when I get new tires. I had an '07 and put a 2.5" lift in it and did an alignment myself on a rack and it barely needed any adjusting.
