I don't know what this is worth to anyone...
But with going with the 35's myself I have had great interest in this subject and have been very mindful of the reactions of those who've experienced these two gears in question.
This is one of many of the same discussion's that have been had over them.
Throughout the debate on which gear would work better, both sides have one thing in common. From what I gather everyone, thus far, has unanimously agreed that either adding the 4.88's or 5.13's has greatly improved the derivable of their JK after installing them.
This tells me one thing...
Taller is better, one way or the other.
Another important aspect of the discussion's that should be noted is the fact that no one, thus far, with the 5.13's has complained about the gearing being too tall. In my opinion this only tells me that the 5.13's cannot be too tall simply due to the fact that SOMEONE would have complained about them on here. Yet no one has.
Personally, I haven't liked the way my JK's gearing has been from the very start. I've complained about how darned low my RPM's have been since day one, and at that point I had stock tires. Now with my 35's, you're darn tootin that I'm getting the 5.13's. ........ Next November
Anywho, hope this helps.
