4.88s 0r 4.10s mileage
looking for some input on my spring plans....i need more power than the 3.21s and want bigger tires just wondering if i should go with 4.88s and 35s or find some low mileage 4.10s and run 33s. its a 6 speed and my daily driver so fuel consumption is a concern.
im just wondering what some of you guys and gals are getting for mpg with similar setups and if your happy with it

i got 19mpg for about a 100mile ride at 65mph with my 35s, 6spd and 4.10s. I have to keep the speed down to get any sort of mileage. Also that was a fairly "grade free" ride out that way. This was just last weekend and was actual calculated mileage, not the "mpg display".
Depends on your terrain what will work best. What works in the Rockies, desert, kansas, etc all varies. I prefer the option of the lower cruising rpm for flat roads with the 4.10s. Versus a constant higher rpm with the 4.88s. I chose to shift to the best gear myself.

Bigger tires will reduce your MPG.
Go with 4.10s with 33s if MPG is your biggest concern. Since you have been running on 3.21s you will still notice an improvement in performance.
For details see the RPM vs tire size charts in the FAQ. They are color coded for various PERFORMANCE vs MPG ranges.

33s and 4.10s here. I get 16 MPG on long trips (over 1K miles). I haven't really pursued it, but I have a sneaky suspicion that I actually get better gas mileage in fifth gear than in sixth--which suggests that I should regear to get back to an efficient part of the torque curve. Before the new tires, I had 20 MPG on similar, long trips. BTW: 48K miles of tracking my gas mileage.

With 35's and 4:10's on my Rubi, here's how it works for me. At 60-65 mph on relatively flat terrain (KY/OH) & cruise control, i can get close to 20mpg...at 70 mph, it drops towards 15mpg and keeps on droppin from there. Problem for me is all interstates are 70 MPH, so driving 60-65 can be downright dangerous at times. I don't feel that regearing will help my mileage at all, unless i gear down lol.
Around town is pretty much a steady 15mpg unless i'm drivin it hard.

3.72 (or is it 3.73 )s in our sahara feel good with 33s, i would imagine 4.10s would be great. the only issue i would have is perhaps maybe wanting to go bigger in the future to 35's and then to spend more money to go to 4.88s or 5.13s. (not that 4.10s are that bad with 35s), but it depends where you drive. in the mountains, i hate my 4.10s. however, most of my driving is on flat land and the 4.10s are money.
