Please explain why 5.38's are way over the top. I have 5.38's, 35" KM2's (really measure 33.75") and the JK drives like a champ here in Colorado. Get 14 mpgs around town and about 17 on the highway. I have an auto tranny just like the OP.

My problem is I have a 2011 and the programmer I won't isn't available yet, so I am stuck with 3.73's and my transmission hunting going down the interstate.

The 285 is essentially a 34" tire if you do the math. 33.8, but close enough to 34........................

I guess I am confused, my speedometer is already re-calibrated for my 35in tires, but how will that help me change my shift points and not run at 1500rpms on the interstate doing 70 constantly downshifting. I guess I don't know all the functions I can do with it.

At 70 MPH it is running right at 2500 RPM down the interstate. This is with 35" KM2s measuring 33.75" in height.

Personally I am glad I didn't go with the 5.13 gears which I was originally considering. I am very pleased with the decision to go with the 5.38.

Mike.
Can you explain what it is about the 5.38 that pleases you? And is this a DD or primarily off-road vehicle? How would you expect the 5.13 to perform differently for you? How is the 5.38 different from the stock gears/stock tire performance?
