Not to contradict, but I have a 6 speed 2 door on 35s with 488s... At 65 I'm doin atleast 2600 rpms, I never push 70 anymore... But my plan was 37s in the long run... 4dr may be different but I suggest trying to drive one with 488s or 456s... If I were keeping 35s, 456 would be perfect.

If you are going to stay with 35s get 4.56s!!!!! I have a 2010 jku 6spd with 35s and 4.88s and hate it. I am actually thinking of trading it In now cuz I am not happy with the gearing to low for a dd and 35s. I have owned several jeeps and toyotas anywhere from 33s to 40s and this jeep has been the worst dd I have had yet with the 4.88s I would rather have the 3.21s that came stock. If I don't trade it in I will be buying 37s and I just bought my 35s a couple weeks ago.

Sorry you're not happy with your gears and totally see what you're saying. I'm still running stock tires with 4.88s. I'll be getting 35s but now this gearing has grown on me!!!
If you're not happy with 35s and I'm afraid of losing my rough, hard shifting, truck slow power and truck feel...suppose I shouldn't be afraid...I should be pretty happy with 35s!
-depends what your needs are, city and some hway should be good, lots if hway, you'll be driving at normal speeds ~>no warp speed here!

i know what your saying 70mph and im running almost 3grand with 35s if i run 60ish mph im doing pretty good and getting decent mpg 37s drop your rpms not much but it helps i ran a buddies 37s for a few days and could tell a difference i still had plenty of power and could still start out in 2nd gear no problem. so my next tire is going to be a 37's as well sorry your not liking your jeep with the 35s though

I run 4.56 on 33s with a 6speed 2 door. I love the power on the steet and trail. At 70mph I am turning about 2800rpm so I stay between 65-70.

i thought about 4.56s but since i had 4.88s on my tj and loved it figured i would go back with them plus everyone was saying that 4.88s and 35's were the best so oh well i think a 6speed 4.88s and 37s are better IMO

I have 4.88's and 35's on a 6 speed. I really like the crawl-ability it gives me off road, but I drive a lot on the highway. Out here the speed limit is 75 (80 in some states). If I get up to 75 or over, it feels like there is a lot of strain on my engine as I'm up over 3200 rpms. So there are times I wished I had 4.56, but now I know I can go to 37's if I want.

I always tell people, if you never drive faster than 65-70, then 4.88's are perfect for you. If you're driving 75-80 on a commute every day, and you'll never go bigger than 35's, I'd consider 4.56.

Contrary to what Planman said, the only way I'd consider 5.13 is if I knew I was starting with 37's and wanted the option to go even bigger.
