OK... i've read and looked and searched and still... i want to hear it from someone who's DONE it....
I would like to hear if 4.88s w/6speed will be enough for 37's
or should i go with the 5.13s...?
I still want to be able to drive on the highway at 75+ without running 3k rpms
i see the info for the auto's and 37's but never find it for the stick...?
the auto has the higher "final drive" and all....
but who's got a stick? who big are your tires? what gears are you running?
and what rpm are you cruising on the road...?
and hell... while we are at it... what kind of mileage are you getting...
this 3.21 and 225's have GOT to GO... ( the 22mpg is cool, but still....)

nope.... i havent made any of the runs yet....
bone stock with these 225's... they'd have to drag me over anything tuffer than a corn cobb...
ahhhh... but when i get some gears/tires... i will be all about it.

WOL has a stick and has 5.13's. He has had 35's and has 37's now and I believe he would tell you that 5.13's is the way to go regardless if you have a stick or an automatic.

great...
ok, question...?
when i'm all dressed out with the swing away tire rack/bumper.. with jerry cans, hi-lift and a full rack on the back...
will the 37's make a 2dr more likely to stand on its tail...? (than a longer 4dr)
even with a PJ bumper and winch and all up front for counter weight..?
i had a CJ5 on 33's back in the day... and she liked to lift the front...
i dont want to limit myself because i have "too much" gear... ( is that possible?)
i know it sounds dumb, but rolling an 25yr old CJ5 is no biggie... but an 07..
(get my drift...?)
thanks

I have a 6 speed and 5.13's with 35's. I am running around 3200-3300 rpms going 70mph. I really don't know the true mpg, but its roughly around 16 mpg drivng the backroads here going 55-60mph. If I were to stay with 35's, I would prob have just went with 4.88's. However, I wanted the flexibility to go up to 37's, and the 5.13's was the perfect choice for me.
