Default 4.56 or 4.88

Sorry guys I know there are numerous threads about regearing but I thought I would start my own because I still can't decide which to go with. 2012 JKU automatic 35" Toyo tires. Probably wont ever go to 37's (but you know, never say never). At least not in the near future. I live in South Louisiana, so mostly flat. I don't wheel or anything, just fishing, camping, exploring type stuff. Experience from people who have both setups would be great. Also, Any advice is greatly appreciated. Would 4.88 be overkill?????

Edit: Also my DD--mostly in town occasionall hwy--live about 6 or 7 miles from work

Because you have the new motor, I would say 4.56 gears. Plus you'll get better mpg.

x2, this is what I'm running on my 12 JKU auto with 35's. Rides great (~2700 rpm @70mph), I will still be able to keep them when I go to 37's.

What gears do u have now. I'm running 37's with 4.10 gears on my 12' jku rubi now and it seems to be fine now since I got an aev procal to calibrate my Speedo and shift points. But I will regear in the near future but lately I have been spending $$ for armor, axle shafts, steering components and soon to get ball joints

Since you have that extra 70hp the 4.56 will be good for the 35's. If you think you might ever go to 37's you might want to consider the 4.88 but that would be over kill for the 35's.

I was planning on going with 4.56 for my 2012 Auto.

Scares me a little that with 35s that puts you at 2700 RPM. I was hoping for 2500-2550 or so.

4.10s just will not be enough to tow the pop-up I want to get so I guess I have to go 4.56.

The way my 2012 rides with 4.56's and 35's I'm looking to jump to 37's just to ease it up a little. I'm in 6th gear at 50mph. Highway going 70mph at 2700ish rpm I'm getting about 14.5mpg.

if you don't wheel I would just leave the 3.73's in it for a while and see how it goes.
