4.56 or 4.88
I know this has been talked about frequently but I am looking at buying gears and am stuck between 4.56 or 4.88. My jeep is a 6 speed with a 3.21 gear ratio and its rolling on 33s. I will eventually be getting 35s but I would like to wear these tires out first so it could be up to a year or more before I make the upgrade. So from what I have gathered in my research and from the gear chart 4.88s are way overboard for 33s so would I be better off with 4.56s or would I be disappointed when I went to 35s?

go 4.88. the 4.56 seem to be real tough to get a hold of and the 4.88 with 35's are spot on.
stan at northridge will fix you up - better prices/service than anyone else

With a six speed: 4.56s and 33s are perfect: I ran 4.10s and it was a bit weak. 4.88s and 35s are perfect: I'm currently running it and love it--would not want gearing any higher, or tires any smaller, though. You need to make up your mind which you want to be.

I have a 6 speed with 4.88s and 34 inch tires. I love the combo and wouldnt mind 5.13s if I had a dana 44. Ur crawl ratio will be awesome with 33s. If u wheel hard stuff at all I say go for the 4.88s. do you do a lot of highway driving?

neither, 5:38 gears with 35/37's
33's IMO are too small for the body,, i think the wrangler is top heavy to begin with,, in my experience, the tires should be bigger to compensate
