4.56 for 3.8

4.56 and 3.8
For whatever my opinion is worth, I put 4.56 in my 2010 2 door manual with 35s and find it to be a great gearing. I frequently, multiple times a week during the winter, tow a boat that is right around the 2,000 lbs range. There are plenty of hills around (SW Oregon) which means I have to shift into 4th to go up the really big ones while towing. I can easily maintain speeds in the 50-65 range on steep long grades in 5th. While freeway driving I actually use my 6th gear without shifting for every little hill.
Before I went 4.56 I had 3.21 and would have to shift into 3rd to go up the same hills while towing and typically only drove in 4th.
I also found that in town driving I get 16mpg basically no matter how I drive, around 12.5-14 towing.
Good luck with your decision.
