Default 4.5 vs 5 backspacing

I am looking to get 285 17R16's (32.8 inches) for my stock JKU and replacing the wheels at the same time.

The tire shop near me has rims that are 16x8 with 5.0 inch backspacing and for $175 more (for 5x) I can get another brand of wheels that are 16x8.5 with 4.5 inch backspacing.

I have read that people run 33's w/o lift on stock wheels with a 1.5 inch spacer... since the stock backspace is 6.25 a 1.5 spacer would make it 4.75 (stock with spacers) which is right in between the two sets of wheels I am looking at

1. My question is can a stock JKU run 33's on a wheel with 5inch back space w/o rubbing or should I just go with the 4.5inch?

2. Also will I have any trouble fitting the spare on the rear tire carrier?

33's shouldn't rub on your stock wheels or the 5 inch BS wheels. And your tailgate should be fine. When you go to 35's, that's when things get complicated and expensive in a hurry.
