4.10's in a sahara - straight gear swap
is this possible? i have an 08 unlimited sahara, 6 speed d44 rear / d30 front
i have access to 4.10's and want to know, can i just take out my old 3.21's (argggh!) and drop in the 4.10's? (not me, the shop!)

Yes, you can run 4.10's. But you'll need a new carrier up front, as 3.73's and up use a different one than the 3.21's. The shop should be able to get it, or try northridge, or wherever.

The D30 up front needs a new carrier. Since you're going to have everything out already, you might as well install a selectable locker (ARB or E-Locker). There is no point doing a gear job only to have an open carrier installed. So, the new selectable locker WILL be your new carrier. So, you'll need the ring and pinion, install kit, and locker.
The D44 ring and pinion are the same in all trims (X, Sahara, and Rubicon). The difference here is the carrier. The carrier in the Rubicon is made to handle 32-spline axleshafts, where the X and Sahara D44 is made to handle 30-spline axleshafts. So, again, since it's all tore apart, get yourself another lockable carrier, selectable or not (ARB, E-Locker, Detroit). You'll need the ring and pinion, install kit, and 30-spline locker.
