I'm probably one of the few on here lucky enough to have owned and experienced both an auto and a stick with 35's. I just bought a '07 6-speed with 35's and I used to own the '07 auto with 35's as well, both of them with 4.10's. There is a HUGE difference between the auto and stick with these tires and these gears. In the past I could NEVER keep the auto in OD. I was always cruising around with only 3 gears. The stick is SOOOOOOO much better. 6th gear is completely usable even in slower city driving. I certainly don't plan on changing these gears to anything taller. As for the auto, that's an entirely different story. So to anyone with the auto, my advice is CHANGE the gearing!! Stick shift, not so much... I can say I am truly happy with 4.10's and a 6-speed tranny.

I just can't really justify spending $1300 after owning the auto and seeing such a great difference in the 6-speed. Just another point of view I suppose.

I'm pleased with the performance of the 2 door Rubicon with the 6-speed and 4.10 gears. Basically it's a 5 speed with an overdrive. I don't feel any lack of power in the first 4, and 5th actually does a great job as well.
I've driven similarly equipped 2 doors with both 5.13 gears and 4.88s.
While both are better offroad, especially in 2 and 4 hi, on road there are pros and cons.
You're conscious of the rpms with the 5.13s, a bit much for 80-85mph interstate cruising. And the 4.88s are often just shy of what's needed for some hills in the 55-65mph range.
Me, I'm more interested in a Atlas 4-speed transfer case than gears, it is a JEEP after all.
