Ely, most states require but not all.. There's exemptions too, like on commercial trucks and older vehicles which did not have 3rd brake lights.

I'd say check to see if it is visable once you get your 35"s mounted. Mine barely covers about the bottom 1/4" of the brake light so the rest is visable. I don't plan on getting the bracket.

Mine peeks above 35's. See how yours fits before deciding to do anything.

Not "adjustable" but who cares. It's not like you're going to put anything larger than a 36 or 37 on there anyways, right?

And you do have to cut the factory one down some..
I made something like this and i works perfect.. I just made mine a bit higher so wen I got to 37's it will work too..

this is my 35 on the stock tire carrier.....i must have bent down to take this pic for some reason because the light was actually more visible.....i think...



this next picture is how it is now.....(sorry bout the sh!tty pic)



the third brakelight is not visible because its in the trunk....i dont think im put'n it on.....

Mine fit just fine. I'm more concerned about all that weight on the gate hinges

this is the reason why my rear bumper / tire carrier went from the bottom of the list to the top.....

My 35's did not completely block the light but I have gone with a bumper/tire carrier so I no longer worry about it.

I just cut mine down tonight and it lights up right threw the spare tire
