Finally had the chance this weekend to mount one of the 39 Krawlers - this one for the spare. My best eyeball/tape measure measurements on the spare (with no load) is 38.5 by 12.5, so pretty close to the described size. I'm running a 17x8.5 beadlock rim and they mounted up nicely with no issues. I used dynabeads for balancing.

 

Let me know if you get that thing mounted on the jeep.

 

A couple of things.

I didn't know the 39" Krawler came in anything other than the red compound. Are yours DOT rated? I didn't think they were.

I run the blue compound 37's on my TJ.

Also, I thought the 39" krawlers were a 13.50 wide tire? Are they only a 12.50?

Krawlers run pretty close to "true to size", bu the Km/2's are short. This should be a good step up between those tires.

I don't know what the life of those tires are, but blue krawlers are about 20K miles and red are about 9K. Hopefully yours last. Did you buy them used?

When I bought my 38" MT/R's (which I run on my JKU), I considered the Krawlers.

 

the softer compound isn't a facor to me right now. i wish they were available to the common consumer though then maybe id buy a set. I am putting these on a set of different rims so they only go on for crawling. I am in process of installing a set of 38's on my stock rims for running around on!!

 

I have been running the 39s from april 10 till now. The Unlimited is a daily driver and pretty core trail rig. I would advise you to balance them with stick on weights. I have never had a good outcome with ceramic beads. this tire has a deeper lug than the KMs and in the wash have matched my 38sKms to the mile. the side wall protects the rim much nicer also. This tire, Blue Label ,takes a four hour drive, 85 MH, Weekend and Out, Fall And Winter. The Krawler is a far better tire than tha KM2. I would prefer the KM2 for a daily pavement snow driver. But you cant have the best of both worlds.

Little late I guess but I'm running the 39 Krawlers now on the aev beadlocks. Not sure if they are blue or red lable. How would you tell?I have 10 km on them now. Installed last spring.

 

I just bought a jeep with the blue labels on. Will I really only get 20k out of these? I'm considering getting a set of mud grapplers anyways but i end up driving 200-600 miles round trip to get to any decent wheeling so I don't want to ruin them just getting there.

 

I have 15K on mine and they are still at around 70%. The tires on yours will do fine as they really were only used for wheeling so they are just rounded off.
