37" tires on dana 30
So I am wondering how many people are running 37" tires on a Dana 30 front and what problems they have found? I am running a heavy 35 right now. Any advice??

I'd recommend truss and gussets for a start, and plan on upgrading or carrying spare axle shafts if you wheel. Ball joints as well. Friend of mine snapped his stock D30 in half wheelin hard with 35's. Jeep hasn't been the same since. It wasn't trussed or gusseted at the time tho. Some people roll with 40's on a D30. All depends how you drive/wheel it. Build it up a bit and you should be fine if you're smart with the throttle.

I wouldn't invest much money in it, besides gussets. The housing isn't really the weakest part of a D30, its the size of the ring and pinion. There is no fix to that other than going with a different axle. I would slap some gussets on and roll with it.

I agree with not putting a ton of money into it, but Marcus from River City Offroad shipped me my Purejeep truss and gussets for $130 Hard to beat that. Weld that on and you're stronger than a stock D44 for sure, considering they have the same tubes and C's. If you don't wheel it, then just slap on the gussets like Ryan said

Same boat here.. Running heavy Toyo 35's and now going up to 37 Toyo on my stock D30 but I live in South Florida so no off roading here. Just going to gusset and drive it. I was going to do 40's but after reading about 100000 pages I decided 37's is the way to go.
