I've ran a couple different 37's on my jeep. Ill give you my experience with them, some other people might differ a lil bit.
37x13.50 pitbull rocker bias
-did great offroad, in mud, rocks and stuff. Terrible to try and even balance, sucked on pavement. only had them for about 5k and got rid of them
prolly should have gotten the pitbull rocker radials, heard they are 100x better allaround for onroad and offroad
38x14.50 mtr/k
-easy to balance, great onroad manners. Did very well on trails and in snow, sucked in mud (anything over 8") Had them for about 35k and sold them. still had prolly 35-40% tread on them when i got rid of them (went to 40" mudgrapplers)

Im running Nitto Trail graps. They are ok off road. Very tough. Ride smooth and quiet on the road. My only complaint is they have a pretty strong left radial pull that I find annoying. Havent used them in the mud or snow so I cant comment on that but they work fine for dry trails and rocks.

do duratracs come in 37's? I have run them in 33 and 35", love em. Best all around tire IMO and very light compared to the others. My only issue with duratracs, if you live in hot climates and drive gravel roads a lot the tread can get chewed up a bit which tells me, may not be the best tire for rock crawling.

I used 35" Goodyear MT/R tires on a 2010 JK, and I liked their off road performance in typical rocky mountain conditions (dirt, rocks, mud, snow). They were all but impossible to balance on the highway though, seeming to have a different balance each time you drove them.
I used 35" Dick Cepek Fun Country II tires on that same 2010 JK, and liked their street performance. They were floaty on gravel roads though, and would not hold a line when attempting more challenging obstacles. They were fair in dirt and rocks, and excellent in snow and in sand. They were not a mud tire.
I used 37" Pro Comp Extreme MT tires on a 2011 JKU. In typical rocky mountain terrain they were a decent tire. Was not impressed with their performance in mud though.
I used 35" Goodyear MT/R tires on a 2013 JKU, and liked their off road performance again. These tires were ok on the highway, and did not have balance problems like the previous set did.
I am using 35" Toyo Open Country MT tires on my 2014 JK. In my opinion, of the tires I have used recently, they have the best all around off road performance for typical rocky mountain terrain. They are also fine on the street. They are heavy, but they are a very tough tire.

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal there.
I run a couple different tires myself. Toyo Open Country MT's, 37x13.50/17 in the summer. It's been a great all around tire, excellent off road in all situations and on road as well. I did run these in winter for the first 2 years of having them and they seemed good there. After having to spend way to much money to get my MT Classic Lock wheels polished back to new looking I picked up another set of tires to mount to my factory wheels to use in winter. They have about 70k miles on the set of 5 (all 5 tires included in tire rotations). I am going to need to replace these tires before next spring and would easily by another set, I am however looking to get a set of Goodyear Wrangler Kevlars in a 37x12.50/17 only to help reduce weight.
2007 JKUR, manual tranny, 5.13 gears and I get about 15 mpg according to dash computer.
I air down to 13 psi when offroad with the Toyo's and have never had an issue with losing a bead. They flex nicely and grip great at that pressure.
The other tires are Falken Wildpeak A/T's, 37x12.50/17. These tires haven't seen much offroad time but have performed well in the snow on road for me for the last 3 years.

I have about 25k miles on these 37" ATZ P3's - they are pretty quiet, have fantastic rain/ice/snow manners, and haven't worn a lot given the miles on them. I haven't used them hard on rocks yet; hopefully sooner than later.

I had 37" mtz's. I ran them up to 50,000kms with 50% tread left and sold them to move up to 40s. If mt made a 40" tire I would have bought it but since they don't I went with Goodyear MTR. The mtz and MTR are awesome tires,both have very good life,balance good,and are great off road.
