35x12.50 on a 12" rim?? Will it work?

31's and 15" wheels....
I guess I missed the part where it looks like a donk?
Sorry about my limited wheeling....everyone else in my group was on 35's.

I wouldn't take it off road like that. You will get a lot of thumbs up in the Ghetto though. I had a guy in a four door with wheels like that, and low profile street tires give me a wave the other day. I gave him a single finger wave. His may have been 24" wheels though. Can you say Donk.

The OP's question wasn't whether you liked his choice or what your preference is, but rather can a 12.5 wide 35" tire fit on a 20x12 rim.
I think my concern would be the rim width being almost as wide as the actual tire. It would work with a low profile tire, but with a 35 I would think the bead wouldn't be as secure. Just my opinion... but... if a reputable tire shop mounts it, then it must not really be a problem. I believe they would be liable if they didn't mention the risk.

Any followup from the OP about intended use?

If you plan to wheel it, I would say its a poor wheel choice (diam and width) for that size tire. My 2 cents
