Default 35X12.5 tires on 16X7 rims

Can I safely run 35X12.5 tires on a 16X7 rim. Advantage/disadvantage on highway and off.

Default 12.50 tires on 16x7 rim`

I've been told running a 12.5 wide tire on a 7 inch rim you are at risk of popping the bead.

I mounted 35x12.5 on a 15x8. discount almost didnt do it, but I told them that everyone runs them so they put them on and told me to keep an eye on the bead.

I would think 7 would be too narrow, but I am new to this stuff, so I would see if someone has tried it and see if it can or cant be done.

7 is too narrow. 8 is really pushing it too. you really should be on an 8.5 or wider to be safe.

I thought the stock Rubi wheels (and maybe the X & Sahara, too) were 7.5" wide... aren't there quite a few people runnin' 12.5's on them?

I would like to know the largest tire that can fit the stock Rubi's wheels also. I would think that with the ??6.5" backspace it couldnt be very wide without rubbing.

Yeah, but spacers can deal with that issue. The issue at hand is how wide of a tire will mount and stay seated reliably.

for a 12.5 tire what rim width would you suggest then? would 10 be too wide?

10 works.. I know bfgoodrich's site shows you specific tire sizes and the wheel
width's that they recommend you use..

take a look
