35's without spacers
Hello all,
I am new to the forum and have a quick question. I just finished my Teraflex 2.5 BB and have a set of BFG 315/70/17s. I am wondering is there enough room to mount these tires on the factory rims WITHOUT the spacers for a few days till they come in or will they be too wide. I won't be wheeling, just street driving till the spacers come in. Thanks

there are several people on here that run spacers and I plan to do the same in the furutre. As long as you keep them tightened as instructed, they are no different then aftermarket less backspaced wheels.

My dealer instaled 3" Black Diamond Lift and Goodyear MTRs 305/R70/17, using the stock OEM wheels and without a spacer. I think your 315's are 3/8" to 1/2" wider. and 5/8" taller.. That's a close one.

You will probably be OK running these if you are very careful with your turns. At full turn, you may rub on the suspension, and for sure will rub on the front airdam. I would remove the front airdam and drive carefully avoiding full lock turns. When your spacers come in, get them installed ASAP. After installing the spacers, you can decide if you want to reinstall the airdam.
Make sure when you put on the spacers to use locktite on the lugs, and recheck the torque after driving with them for a couple of days. Spacers are safe as long as you ensure they stay tightened up well.

I have run them for years and have them on my current Jeep. as long as you get a good quality set that are hub centric, like Spidertrax, no worries.
usually when you hear of failure, it is due to improper torque on the nuts (owner error) or poor quality spacers (owner error).

Yes racers due run them and their cars are gone over on a VERY regular basis.
I think it comes down to most people don't have the time and or knowledge to
take care of spacers and things like that.
I dont know how to do it, I know its easy but I do not have a good torque wrench
nor do I have the jackstands needed.... Thats why I buy my tires and discount tire
and get their warranty... I have them deal with rotating the tires and all of that.

Thank you to all that attempted to help answer my question. Although I did not intend to debate weither or not spacers where a a good idea, I simply need to know if the tires would fit or not. I have already done my research on the spacers and I am not concerned about running them. If properly installed and maintained there is NO issue with them. That is the key. Thanks

I looked the cost of spacers, vs the cost of rims with less BS, and depending upon what rims you want, the less BS'd rims can be cheaper than the spacers.
If you have really nice rims you like, etc...then the spacers make sense.
