I vote "hell no"

Save yourself the heartache and just buy the OR-Fab tire carrier

I carried my 35 on the stock carrier for a few months and it started breaking the factory welds on the inside of the tailgate. I welded them up and ran it again waiting for my bumper. It started breaking in other places. That tire is just to heavy for the tailgate. It may not happen to everyone. But it does happen. I should have just put it in the back until I got a bumper / tire carrier.

I've had mine on for a few months with no noise and no problems, even with all the pot holes in NYC. My tire happens to fit perfectly snug in the bumper cutout, so it supports it nice. When I close the gate, you can hear the tire wedge in.

Had mine on for about 2500 miles and I'm a bit nervous. The one thing I've seen is how much does it cost to replace the tailgate?

I think it depends on how much you use your gate. I read all the threads before I put my 35 on stock carrier. I use my gate multiple times a day..I took it off in 3 days ..already had stated to rattle and was a lot harder to open and close. Good luck..just my experience ..

I've been told by the guys at AEV it's OK for awhile provided you're not running down rough raods everyday, but get proper tire carrier ASAP.

If you do decide to run it on the stock carrier, invest in some Daystar tailgate bump stops.

Running 35 MTZ'S on my stock mount makes some noise. Sounds pretty bad at times, ordered lod rear bumper 8 weeks ago so hopefully that will help out. So I say run it till something better comes along.

Completely acceptable if you are running the new Toyo MT 35 helium filled with the AEV (AWR) "Air Weight Rim" .

Just learn to plug tires and get a compressor... Leave the tire at the house and go without it... looks cool with out.. Get the Poison Spyder Tram Stamp... 50 bucks.
