I'm running 33's on a Rubicon that came with 4.10's and that sucked, had to gear up to 4.88's.
If you think 33's will solve the problem, your fooling yourself.

put it this way......your gonna be better off with 33 and stock gears wrather than 35 and stock gears....

it does cost dough to change gears.......im about pay about 2 g's to get mine changed. i find that to be a little steep, but there arent many places around where i live that i trust to tear into my brand new jeep.

corey d

how much did it cost you to switch everything out?

You could also run 34x10.50 Super Swamper LTB's ! I have 3.73 gears and that's what I run and I have all the power in the world. On road and off. Check them out I went them because I didn't want to have change my gears either!

Dude it sounds like ur not figuring the inaccurate speedo after the 35s and... u dont say weather ur manny or auto, anyway thread is about auto; At 70 im turning 2500 RPM, not too bad but I feel its a lil high, BUT...at highway speeds jeep still doesnt have the stock power and wont hold a grade really like it shud so I wud say 513s are the best option w the auto. I do agree to not consider the 33s as they reportaly require a gearing change as well and dont fit the jeep quit like the 35s

jksmith- as stated above; if u dont plan on the cost for the gear upgrade (i paid 1500) along w/ the 35s/lift ect ...then save all ur money and leave the jeep stock, u will be happier...at least I know I would have been.

Here's my .02. Buy the 35's for the trail, but run the stockers during the week. Then when you can afford to regear, you can slap the 35's on full time.

I figure when I put on the 36" swampers sitting in the back of my pickup, I will probably effectively make my tranny a 3-speed rather than a 4-speed.
