The manufacturer also post the height of tires unmounted, so there is no weight of the vehicle or air pressure variations etc accounted for in their measurement/advertised height.

yeh, not to happy about the whole thing. But hey, next set will be 36 or 37's so i can have a legitimate 35. I found some links a few weeks past from a diesel forum (i think) where they were compiling actual real world measurements for tires. IIRC Nitto looked pretty true to size.

My 35" MTRs are 34.25" on 8" wheels via Supechips to get the speedometer correct. Rears inflated to 35psi, fronts 30psi. I'm sure there is a difference between the front and rear height, but taller than my Toyos of the same size.

I have 315/70/R17 GY Duratracs at 35 psi on a 9" rim and they measure 33.5" tall.

That is what I was thinking when he said pulled up next to another jeep. It's the difference in actual stance heightism the Jeep that I notice more than the actual tire heights side by side.

Ya I used to have Duratracs on my Grand Cherokee and they ran kinda small. But that does explain why they are one of the lightest tires you can find in size.

Additionally, now I have the "Kelly Safaris" and they are 315/70 r17 but run about 34.00
