35s and a lack of power
#22
A few weeks ago I got my 2.5" lift installed and then found 35" tires and new wheels. I have 3.73 gears. I notice even the most subtle changes in my vehicles. I can honestly say that I felt only the smallest difference in acceleration off the line. I think it drives great for what it is... a heavy, torquey beast. On the highway it is a bit slower though. MPG dropped a lot but I need to adjust the speedo with a FlashCal. I feel no need to regear. My $.02.

I did the switch from 33 KO2's to 35 KO2's 2 days ago, zero difference in the way my 13 JKU A5 drives. Zero, i wish i would have known this back in July 2015 when i spent the money on wheels and 33's, i would have gone straight to 35's right from the start, i'm still on factory 3.21's. Sure she's not super fast off the line, but it's not as horrible as people make it to be, i'd be regearing anyways in a couple of months, but honestly, i don't live in a hill, and i don't drive around hilly areas, and i swear of god, i could live with 35's and 3.21's if it wasn't because i like to take her offroad every other weekend, plus when i go out with the family, wife tend to pack to the roof , so and frankly i want to go at least to 4.56's if not 4.88's.
The difference between my 33's (measured 32 1/8") and the 35's (measured 33.5") in weight is just 4 lbs per tire, (58lbs vs 62lbs), and and the last is pretty much 1.5" taller.
The 3.8 is a different beast because of the trans gearing / engine powerband in that model.
