35s and a lack of power
The guy at my favorite off-road shop days that when I go from 33" to 35" tires I'll have to re-gear. He said that my jeep will be gutless. I didn't really notice anything between the factory 32"s and my true 33"s when I installed them. I have a 2011 JKUR with a six speed. I see tons of has JKs with 35"s, any I can't imagine they've all re-geared. Any advise would be appreciated.

Drive it with the 35's for a while, then 'you' can decide if 'you' want to regear. Until then, open the thousand previous gearing threads and read as many replies as you can. Make sure to note the engine and transmission of the person, since that can make a big difference in the want/need to regear. Also things like altitude vs sea level, hills/mountains vs board flat roads, mostly in town vs mostly 80+ on the freeway. All of it can factor in to peoples opinions.
if you don't already have a programmer/tuner, add that to your list so you can adjust the tire size and gear ratio in the computer.

Do you presently have 3.73 or 4.10s? 4.10s could make it much more palatable.
You're right. There are tons, if not most Jeeps on 35s that are running stock gears.
That said, when you get into 35s, it'll be a performance hit either way.
As suggested, give it a go for a few weeks and see what you're missing or not.

Good advice stated hear, search the gear threads. It is a matter of opinion and location. The main thing is what gears you gave now. My cousin has a 2008 (3.8 liter) with an auto and 3.23s and 35s and it is a pig. everywhere he goes has had his foot welded to the floor. I have a 2013 (3.6 liter) with a manual and 4.10s and 35s and it is perfect.

I've got 4:10s, intake and exhaust. This is actually for future plans. I may not lift it as high as I want and even go with 35"s of i have to re-gear. It is a lot of money to re-gear a Rubicon.

I run my MT ATZp3's on 3.73 w/ Procal done (2015 JK Sah.). Noticed a slight decrease in acceleration but then again I was never fast off the line. On side streets I stay at speed limit with no noticeable decrease. Hit 70-75 on the hwy and I'm around 2000 Rpm, which triggers ECO mode, which I take as the Jeep being in the right gear for the speed (auto tran).
On long drives I avg about 18-19 mpg keeping a reasonable speed.
Just my experiences since you asked.

There is also a huge difference between the 2007-2011 JKs with the 3.8l and the 2012-2016 JKs with the 3.6l.
The newer engine makes much more power and is much more forgiving.
Gears become a "must-do" sooner with the 3.8l.

a buddy of mine is running 38x14.50.18 mt/r's with stock gears and says he doesn't notice too much of a change, but he's mostly around town anyway. I think he's crazy, wasting away his gears like that, but we'll see.
