Default 35s on factory tire carrier

I thought I saw a thread on this but cannot find it now.
My questions are;
Those who have 35s how have they fit/not fit on stock tire carrier?
I know weight is an issue, but have you seen any issues with the rear tailgate
not closing properly/getting stressed at the hinges?
Also how has the factory bumper helped/not helped support the weight
or interfered with the tire fitting?
I am looking at getting Cooper STTs on 15 or 16 wheels w/4" back spacing.

Thanks.

I have my 34's on my stock carrier and have a friend with 35's on his. The bumper supports some of the weight. I had a spare tire relocator for a while and took it off. I found that it rattled terribly and put the weight too far off the back. It did bend the sheetmetal a bit. Ever since I put it back on the stock piece, all has been good.

One recommendation is to get the Cooltech tailgate shock. It helps the tailgate stay open when you open it. The 35" tire is very heavy and it hurts like hell when the tailgate slams into your leg.

Def get the daystar tailgate bumpstops. They're like $15 and they make the rattle stop. Very sturdy when using.

When I used my factory tire carrier, I had 35x12.5x16 without any issues.

I know have the OR Fab tire carrier since I wanted the extra space for the HiLift Jack, gas cans and antenna.

I have 35" KM2's on AEV bead locks and they will NOT fit on a the factory tire hanger. Currently using the Expedition One adapter and the Daystar extended bumpstops.

Works great so far no problems closing or opening the tailgate but I will be installing a new bumper with tire carrier soon to prevent any stress damage on the tail gate.
