35s or 33s? - pros and cons...
Like the title suggests, I'm ready to pull the trigger on either 33s or 35s for my JKU. I have a 2.5" BB and 1.5" wheel spacers on now with my stock Rubi 32s. I plan on keeping the stock Moab wheels.
1. Do you have to regear when you go up to 35s?
2. Can you mount 33s or 35s on the stock tailgate mount?
3. Will MPG drastically go down with 35s?
4. Are 35s a bad idea for a DD going about 60 miles round trip a day?
Any other big issues I should be aware of between 33s and 35s? I really do want 35s the most, but don't want to if it will seriously affect how I drive or if I'll have to spend thousands more to regear and such.
Thanks for your help!

I first put 33s with aftermarket rims (no spacers needed) on with no lift and all was fine. Spare fits too. Then I added 3.5" of lift and got some negative comments from friends about the tires being too small.
I was on the fence cause I was really resisting (worrying about giving up road manners) stepping up to 35s and I was okay with the look. Then along came a nice affordable set of 35s.
Very happy with them (especially off road) but you gotta know I have a 6spd with 4.10 gears and have reprogrammed. Don't know if I'd be happy with this setup if it were a daily driver though. Pretty sure if that were my case, I'd stay with 33s with that 2.5 lift. Hope this helps some.

Go with 35's or you'll regret it. i went with 35's and regret not going with 37's since I have the room for them. 35's will kill your mileage around town, I still get 19-20 on the freeway. The 35's will fit your spare holder with no mods and the 3rd brake lite is still useable. So lift it and run 35's or leave it low and run 33's, just dont lift it and run 33's JMO

33" Pro's
-Better gas mileage
-Better road usage
-No extra $ to re-gear "although it helps"
-Spare fits without adapter and doesn't cover 3rd brake light.
Plus it is easier on the tailgate
35" Pro's
-Looks cooler
-higher axle clearance, but only by 1"
Honestly, if I had the extra cash, I would have 35's but all things considered I have 33's. Maybe when my 33's wear out I'll have the money for gears and will go 35".
Sounds like with your concerns you should go 33". I think you will be happy.
