I'm trying to decide on how much lift to go so I can get a comfortable fit for 35s and still have good articulation and what not...any pointers?
Got an 07 2 door sahara
Thnx all! :

With a two door I would keep the lift at 3" and maybe some flat fenders like the Bushwackers or a fender trim. The driveshafts are pretty short on the two doors and 5" of lift is going to give you some pretty big angles, not good for your driveshafts.

In the best interest of your driveshafts and for a lower center of gravity, you can also keep it stock and use small spacers and flat fenders. This will give you the SAME articulation and flex as a 3" lift.
I know this because I just went from a complete 3" teraflex lift to the build I just mentioned above. It also got rid of my driveline vibration and the ride is a lot smoother too.

If I were to do it all over again with a two door JK, I would have the OME 2" lift, 1" body lift, and PureJeep flat fenders. Plus Hanson bumpers, but that doesn't matter... they are just stout...

To fit a 35" tire you need at least a 2.5" lift with stock fenders and a wheel with a 4.5" backspacing. With the right lift I.E. Rockkrawler 3.5" mid arm xfactor, you can run a 35" or a tire with the same wheel, stock fenders, and you will have no driveline issues unless you have an auto. Then you will be rubbing the front driveshaft on the skid plate at full flex with the sway's disconected. There are a few good manufacturers out there, I have used both the teraflex BB 2.5 and when I went up, I used the RK 3.5 listed above. Tera flex worked great to get me started but I love Rockkrawlers service. Those guys are still working right now getting orders processed. Jeremy just called me back to complete my order and they even warrantied a part that I had installed incorrectly and was broken due to my own negligence. Hands down the best service in this sport of any manufacturer I have seen. They can hook you up with the lift that is right for you and answer any questions you have

Ok, so how about 4" with different drive shafts? That would decrease the stress on the shafts, right? Mind you I got my JK in October, and this is my first vehicle like this. Before I had a '86 BMW, then to a 99 BMW.
Thanks for all the advice so far guys

You can run 35's or 37's on a 3" kit.
