Exclamation 35's + 3" lift + 3.21 gears = Bad idea?

I have an 08 JK 2dr. Pretty sure it has 3.21's in it since 3.73's are an option. I really want a lift. I was thinking a black diamond 3" lift and some 35's. But the more I read the more I see people saying regear. That wont happen for me. Too much $$$ for the look I want. Not really going to wheel it often.

So is it a MUST to regear with the set up I mentioned??

Thanks!

You'll get a bit worse gas mileage and you're gonna loose OD in an auto OR 6th gear if you have a stick. If your're ok w/that then I say go for it.

Re-gear will cost you $1500 +/- (parts & labor).

Dont cry and settle for less than what you really want. I am in the same situation....I want to go with 35s or maybe even 37s...so I know I need 5.13 gears...but I also want to upgrade the front axle to the Rubi 44....and i dont want to pay for a regear before I get the D44 and then have to regear again....so it looks like I need the D44 front, the gears, wheels/tires, lift, and might as well throw a rear locker in at the same time....thats gonna be an expensive project...but I feel its better to do it right the first time and if you cant afford it now, save save save and afford it later....my problem is I want to go with the guys to moab in march, and i dont think ill be able to put it all together by then...so it might have to wait a year or so...but Im gonna do it all the way the first time. Hang in there....youll figure something out...I would say go with the 33s and BB now if you NEED too....you can usually sell your stuff used and get back at least some of the investment in "temporary" parts

But then you'll just be tossing more $$$ at it when you get tired of the 33's because you REALLY wanted 35's.

btw...33's w/ 3.21's will suck too, so bite the bullet and get 35's. Suffer while you save $$$ and then regear.
