i want better tires but can't afford the lift or the gears (not to mention tires). so i guess i'm going to be waiting a nice long while. mean time i gotta make sure to be really careful off-road cause my oil pan is so damn low on this thing. lose lose i guess!

The cheapest way for ground clearance is a budget boost. If you get yourself a 2-2.5" budget boost, you can do it fairly cheaply, and get a couple of buddies to help put it on. You will get that belly up a little higher off the ground. Upgrading tires only gives you a lift of 1-2", and costs a fortune.

What size tires do you have on it? You have the stock steel 16's or the 32" tires?

Just picked up 35's tonight. Interesting to read the responses and see what my experience will be like.

I have an X with 3.21's and 35's.
Its not that bad, however I accept the fact that my Jeep will never be a sports car. I do not do much highway driving. Offroad, I use 4LO to make up for the lack of power. I have driven it this way for 8 months, and it will probably be a while longer until I can afford gears.

I say drive er' !
