It does. It's called the "section width". And the second number, say "75", is the section height. That's a percentage value that means the section height is 75% of the section width. So, if a 225 and a 265 both have 75 as section heights, the 265 will be taller since 265x.75 is more than 225x.75.

Make sense?

Knowing this how bad do you all think the 35's will hurt my interstate millage. I plan to regear in about a year.
Take in to account that you are getting advice from guys with Auto's, also. Their mileage has no bearing whatsoever on what you will get with a 6speed. Completely different gearing.

I don't have a manual, so can't comment on what your mpg's will be with 35's, but i would be very surprised if it was above 17-18. And as mentioned, very few are posting mpg numbers as good as yours, so if mileage is that important to you, consider holding off on the tires until you can afford to gear as well.

Also keep in mind that with 35's you will be putting a lot more weight to the unsprung portion of your suspension. Even if you regear to be able to gain back some acceleration, you will always be spinning those big meats around and will lose fuel economy as a result.

As a couple people said you would need to use an aftermarket programmer to correct for the change in tire size. Going from the stock 32s to 35s will cause your JK to underestimate speed and distance traveled by approximately 10%. This is turn causes both the computer and hand calculated MPG to be about 10% lower than what it really is, so if you are currently calculating 14 mpg without correction you are in reality probably getting closer to 16 mpg.

Also as someone mentioned the cheap route to go is if you already have a GPS use it to check your speed and distance traveled and compare that to what your JK is reading to get an approximate correction factor. Hopefully it will keep you from getting a speeding ticket too!

Just drove back from work 60miles and reset my MPG reader and in 6th gear at 65MPH I get 25 MPG easy sometimes 26. In the city I get around 19-21. I drive pretty easy but not like a granny. I try to shift around 2100-2200 to keep the RPM's down. Does anyone have an idea why I am getting such good MPG's. It is super flat on the interstate I drive on.

I'm in the same boat as you, I average about 21 mpg with 6 spd and 3.21 gears. I've got a set of 35's about to go on soon as well. I'm hoping for around 18 with the 35's.

Just don't let Chrysler do an "update" on your computer. Lol

Are you gonna try to keep the 3:21 gears for awhile?

Please post back with your results because I am ready to buy my new tires an I can't decide if I'm going with 33's or 35's your results will have a big impact on my decision
