I was going to sleeve and gusset my D30 when I put the 37s on , daily driver meaning around town long distances 15 miles or further I have another vehicle. I do a lot of beach wheeling and trips upstate or to PA once every month or two.

I have a 2012 manual with 3.21 gears and 315s. I am going to 4.10 gears because that will put me at the same RPM I am in 5th gear now. Right now if I keep it in 5th it pulls almost anything on the street. 4 wheel high is a little too fast off road right now, but 4 wheel low is livable even in the rocks. I will be happy with my RPMs at 2200 at 70 mph. I don't want her screaming her guts out. I am building a 2dr XJ as more of a trail rig, my 2 XJ's are much more reliable than the JK. I have had far less electrical, and mechanical issues with both XJs combined.

I just re-geared my 2011 JKU from 3.73 to 5.13's and love the pep I got back, on the down side I did lose some MPG but hey it is a Jeep. I am truly happy with the performance. As mention previously the type of wheeling you do along with your driving style will a deciding factor in gear selection. Not sure if you have seen this gear chart but it might be of some assistance.

^^^^ and seriously don't be scared of miles on them. My dad's had 265k on it with no leaks or burns and it was still on original clutch. He sold it to his friends grandson in 08. That kid is still driving it today

I have a current listing on Ebay that may interest you. Brand new JK Dana 30 Front 27 Spline 4340 Chromoly Axle kit. $375 is starting bid, paid closer to $500. Decided to get a teraflex dana 44 instead of "beefing up". Here is link

Why put 37's on a jk as a daily driver and buy an xj as a trail rig? The Jk is going to be far more capable than the xj unless you're looking to just bounce it off every rock and not care about the damage.

My XJ's are much more reliable than my 2012 JK. I am not very happy with the JK. The electronics are it's major downfall. I really like it from the clutch plate back. I am not liking the nanny systems. At least I know my XJ's will get me there, and back without the dash lighting up like a christmas tree. Both of my XJ's have HP 30 & 8 1/4 diffs. I do like the manual trans in the 2dr more, but the AW4 is a strong trans also.

Why? Stock rubi axles handle 37s just fine. Upgrade to chromoly shafts for some insurance.
