I run 35X12.50 Nitto Mud Grapplers and have had no issues. Had to buy Spidertraxx spacers, but tires mounted and balanced fine. Have 9K miles on them with two trail rides. No Issues. Just find a different tire shop. If he doesn't know it can be done, he doesn't kow enough about the tire and installation of them to keep your business. I find that we as Jeepers, seem to do our homework before we make a move, and I will routinely run inot a shop that knows less about the item or install I'm talking about. (maybe I need to find new shops.) Also, I went to three tire shops who wanted to balance my 35s by using the sand in the tire, and didn't want that. So I went to a shop that mounts semi-truck tires and they mounted them and balanced them with no problem using the regular weights.

Good Luck.

Any need for addition support to make this work? I see companies selling relocation brackets to raise the tire up. In the long term I know the best answer is to get a tire carrier that mounts to the bumper...but for the time being....

I have ran them that way and TJ rubi owners have done this for years just use the spacers and if you have problems with the spare get a extra spacer and use it on the spare holder as I did.
