Is your JK an auto or manual? That will be the deciding factor here. Plenty of people running 35s on 3.73 with a manual. With an auto...from what I've seen/read it will not be pretty!!

I'm running that now in my auto until I can afford new gears. My Superchips Flashpaq definitely helped retuned to get some performance back.

I just ordered mine today I hope its not too bad. I have read others did it but it seems it is a total dog. I plan to get 4.88's or 5.13's in the near future

Just get the new tires. You can always regear later. It's not going to "harm" anything running 3.73s for awhile, unless you plan on doing extreme offroading right away. They're only a little sluggish on pavement driving uphill for long distances, but IMO it isn't that bad. I think a lot of "complainers" tend to over-exaggerate the drivability they experience.

It depends if your commute is hilly or flat. My Unlimited with the 6 spd (3.73) and 35's was not great on the highway. I had to stay in 4th a lot on a roadtrip across the country.

I wonder if it would be better with the new 12'? Havent heard much yet on the new five speed auto with same gear ratio on 35's..

Since the new 2012 Pentastar engine puts out like 280hp I've heard that 3.73 feels pretty good and 4.10 is "overkill" sometimes (based on some drivers experience).

Turn OD Off as soon as you start it. That'll get you decent freeway rpm's and make it semi-liveable until you get around to the gears.
