Funny... I was just reading that write-up. As inexpensive as the gusset reinforcement is, I wouldn't mind the insurance.

It all depends on what u want to do with it. If u r not a hard offroader. Then u should be fine. All I have is a 2.5 inch coil lift and 35s. And mine if fine. Never had dw, or anything bend. But if u plan on running it hard. Then I would do sleeves and c gussets. And if u have a 6spd u will be fine with 35s 3.73 gears. But if u have an auto u might hate it. Without a regear. Just my . 02 cents.

Just to add one more thing, I beat the SNOT out of my XJ, which had 35" Super Swampers on it, 4.88 gears and an open D30 front and never had a problem. My JK has pitifull 3.21's and a six speed, and I've never had a problem either. Oh, and I have 80K on the clock...

I always adise the guys who are newer to wheelin to throw a moderate build, if any, and go have some fun BEFORE you go spending a bunch of money.

A JK rubicon with 35's and a 2.5" lift is a golden setup.

Would this TeraFlex Front HD Knuckle Gusset & Tube Sleeve Kit be a recommended setup? If so, $120 + installation is pretty cheap insurance.

I ran and wheeled 35" Toyos for over a year and 37's for a few months without any reinforcements but knew it was a matter of time. So it's still a good idea for a minimal investment.

Those are nice, but have you seen the Evo setup? I like that it covers the C at the top and bottom.

3 years with 35's here, no major problems. I upgraded gears to 5.13s eventually, but waited 2 years so its not necessary. I wheel pretty conservatively though, nothing crazy as this is my DD as well. Got my C's gusseted as well, don't hesitate to go with 35s.
