Who has a 35 mounted on their stock spare tire carrier?

I do as a short term solution. It's not recommend but if you do do it garb some extended bump stops, or make your own as I did and make sure everything is snug. If you go off roading make sure you throw the spare in the back of the jeep.

I have 35" on my stock carrier with just a bracket that moved it up off the bumper. Works great. I hve been wheeling with no issues. Been that way for a year now.

I had the adapter that moved it up but with the aev pintlers it stuck out to far and moved quite a bit. I threw it in the back when wheeling. It started rattling pretty bad so a buddy and I took a look at it. Come to find out it was just a wiring clip rattling in the tailgate. We took the adapter off and the wheel fits nice and tight on the gate and it rests right on the factory bumper and has been solid on the trails.

Tons of people have 35's on stock tailgate with no issues. I bet more people have no issues than those that do. And I'm sure a lot depends on what wheel/tire combo you go with. A km2 on a 15 or 16" wheel will be a lot less than a Toyo m/t on the same wheels.

I ran mine on stock for over 2 years with no issue before I decided I wanted a steel bumper. More about safety than the tire carrier.

I did for a while until I started getting into really bumpy trails. Then, one day I was hearing noises and saw that the tire was pulling the welds apart. I now have a carrier.

This. While it may work for some time with street driving, the chance of it holding up with off road abuse is slim.

I've had mine on the back for 9 months now. No issues thus far. Someday I suspect it will though. Until then......

I have mine with a Warrior adapter. No problems so far but I do need longer bump stops to hold it a bit more firm. I also just flipped the third brake light.
