35" BFG M/T or Dunlop Mud Radial… OR 33's Duratracs

I'll share some pics that may help you decide. I run both sizes, but different tires (see signature), on 2.5" of lift.
Keep in mind it's not the weight that will make the biggest difference here, but the gearing. I have 4.10's and my 35's are 92 lbs each. It's certainly livable, although I'm thinking I'll change to 5.13s this winter.
Putting them on the tailgate is fine (weight is the issue there, so you'll be ok).

Its on a discount tire 15 inch rim with a 3.75 BS. I bought some rubber pipe couplers from home depot to extend the bump stops on the tailgate to help mount the spare. The thrid tail light can still be seen from over the tire.

Bump stop Extended
Third brake light
When I go off road I throw the spare in the trunk area b/c offroad puts more stress on the tire carrier than mall crawling
edit edit: I am running 3.73 auto and don't mind the 35's... dropped about 2mpg city and 2-4 mpg highway... got to pay to play
Have you guys done anything with your pinch seams for the rear tire

I have the Goodyear Duratracs in the 315/70 (essentially a 35) on a 17 inch Blackrock rim and I love them. They grip great in sand and mud. They are great on rocks, absolutely no noise on the street and are fantastic in the rain. They wear great, I have 10k miles on them and they look almost brand new. The final plus is in my area they are almost $50 per Tire cheaper than the BFGs. With 5 tires that left me extra money to spend on other upgrades. Just my two cents.

but the BFG 35x12.5x15 is over a $100 cheaper than version for the 17 inch wheel... GY doesn't make the duratrack in 35 for a 15 inch wheel... you have to step up to the 16 inch and that brings the tire cost more than the BFG 35x12.5x15

how do KM2s drive on the road and hold up. Looking for 315/75R16 (35")
not a daily driver but will get more road use than off road. Off road weekends and during hunting season

The duratracs are an all terrain, so you should be comparing them to the BFG A/T. And when I did, the BFG A/T is quieter and about the same cost. I'm on my third set and an very happy. I test drive a friends jk with the duratracs and it wasn't bad, but was lost than the BFG.
