Going on 2012 JKU AUTO w/ 3.73.

Any feedback on the 2 tires?

I was going to order the "Combo" from DTD and was planning on the 33's GY Dura w/ 15"s


But then looking at the cost difference I started to look into 35's with 15's

Im going with the MB72s and debating between 33s or 35s…. If I go 35's should I get the Dunlop and qualify for the rebate or go BFG M/Ts?

The weight of the 2 are , 58lbs for Dunlop and 61lbs for the BFGs

So that combined with the 18lbs wheels… Ill be a couple pounds heavier then a factory Rubi setup, but for the size of tire, it'll be worth it

Factory tailgate should be ok for now

Heres the break down in price before rebates and discounts

GYD & MB72 = $1525….. 67lbs

Dunlop MR & MB72 = $1630….. 76lbs

BFG M/T & MB72s = $1675…. 79lbs

As you can see, Ive done my research

My opinion is that the KM2's are one of the best, if not the best offroad tires that are also streetable. Great on the rocks that I have done (Ouray, CO and Moab only) and they kick ass in the mud and snow up here in CANADA EH

I will second that!!! They may not be the best but they are dang good. And they are one good looking tire. They are not noisy. I keep the soft top down all summer and noise is not an issue. They last forever. 50-60 thousand miles.

You size you guys running? I really would like to go w/ 35s, but if it kills the drivability I will have to pass.

I'm hoping the 3.6 with the new auto and 3.73 would be ok.

A MB72 and KM2s are 3lbs heavier then stock rubi takeoffs.... And those are from factory

I went with 33" Duratracs a couple of months ago after many hours of research. While i have nothing but good things to say about them, they will be replaced with 35s tomorrow strictly for the increase in rubber. If i had to do it again, I would have went straight to 35s and saved myself time and money. It's funny because most people on here say go with 35s from the start and I still didn't listen thinking I would be one of the exceptions!

Although, my duratracs are on stock 18s... you would have more tire to air down with 15s if that is a concern.

That's what I'm afraid of... Putting on 33's then wanting and wishing for 35s

I'm going now bigger then 2.5" lift and I'm thinking 33s would look kinda small with a 4dr and lift

If your debating 35's, then go with them. Trust me, if you go smaller you will regret it

Does a 35 even fit on the spare holder? Hows the 3rd brake light ?

I am running a 35 BFG on my spare holder... at my own risk b/c some people say I am asking for trouble.

Its on a discount tire 15 inch rim with a 3.75 BS. I bought some rubber pipe couplers from home depot to extend the bump stops on the tailgate to help mount the spare. The thrid tail light can still be seen from over the tire.

When I go off road I throw the spare in the trunk area b/c offroad puts more stress on the tire carrier than mall crawling

edit edit: I am running 3.73 auto and don't mind the 35's... dropped about 2mpg city and 2-4 mpg highway... got to pay to play
