Well I do a lot of varied terrain, mud, your run of the mill trail, and what not, so I'm not a big rock crawler.. Why not 4.88s SONIC???

Just get the 4.88's then when you do decide to go to 35's you'll be ready.

The gear/tire size thing is pretty subjective (and your terrain matters to). I would just wait and see how you like the Jeep after the 33's. If you find it adequate then you'll save a bunch of money by sticking with the stock gears. If you hate it then consider the re-gear. The 4.56 would probably be a better match for 33's, however if you do decide to go 35's or bigger in the future then you'll be back to where you started, wanting more gearing.

what he said. i've run both 33's and 35's on 3.73 on my TJ and while it's not an exact comparison due to the torquey 4.0L, i found 33's to be totally liveable with long hill climbs on the highway to be the only real drag. with 35's, it worked but just barely. on flat ground and if you're a conservative driver, i think you will hardly notice the difference going up to 33's and not regearing.

Yeah long hill climbs and hilly terrain seem to be the worst, otherwise it's not too bad
