Personally I think the 35's look like what should have come from the factory. I think you will regret doing 33s cause they'll look like cheerios especially if you have an unlimited. Only my opinion, but that's what you're asking for...
Agreed I had the tire shop put 33 s then 35s on so I could see what I liked. 35s look perfect. I would have been disappointed in the 33s for sure .

is it going to look like poop?

also, besides brake lines and a front trackbar what else do i need? do i also need a rear adjustable trackbar? and i looking at a totally different ball game between 2.5" and 3"?
Here's my 3" BDS lift with 17" addicts and 33" Nitto Trail Grapplers

Keep in mind I have the upgraded shocks which are Brushed Aluminum instead of white. Anyway, a lot of people will tell you that the Terra Flex 2.5" budget boost is the best. and it is very good. But the difference is that the Terra Flex has spacers for the factory coils and shocks. The BDS has shocks and lift coils. the price difference is a couple hundred bucks. Plus the BDS comes with Quick Disconnects for more Flex on the trails. I also use my rig as a Daily Driver and it drives better than stock because of the better coils and shocks.

This is my rig with a 3" lift and 33s

Not the best shot but the only one of I have with a side view at the moment.

Steering stabilizers might be upgraded if you went to a bigger wheel like a 37. If your suspension and steering is setup right you can run without it.

I am particular about how my rig handles, so I added front adjustable LCAs, an adjustable front track bar, and a rear track bar bracket. I did add extended brakelines in front, my SS is stock.

Probably more than I needed to do but it does ride nice. I am upgrading the SS to a TF 9550 SS but that is because our buddy over at Northridge has a package with a JKS SS relo bracket and an SS that is just a good deal.

interestin' thread this ... exactly where i'm headed...
i'm after a 2.5 or 3 inch lift but don't want to compromise my handling...
i'm sure that the mpg will be better with the 33's...
but i can't get past the fact that the 35's look waaaaaaaaay better.

Watching this thread too as I like the idea and look of 35" but they only give me 1.5" more of clearance under the axles and body where a 3" - 3.5" lift will add that much clearance under the belly of the jeep and that is more likely to limit me off road. If I can stick to my 32"s or 33"s I don't need to re-gear and might have better mileage.

I will be running the 2.5 tera with springs n 35s friday. My buddy goeagles88 is running tera 2.5 spring and 35s no prob. If you want a little more add a 1.25 body lift for $99. Cheaper and effective.

If you are even considering 35's you should do it now. You'll regret it if you don't. Honestly, if you have an Unlimited anything less than 35 just looks awkward anyway IMHO. A 2.5 or 3 inch lift with 35s looks great and requires few other mods. Many people do reinforce the D30, replace axles etc..but is not as necessary with a 3" or smaller lift no matter whether it is 33 or 35 inch tires. I will say that if you decide to go with 35's it is generally accepted opinion that you should at least reinforce your c's (gussets). They are inexpensive and anyone that can weld will be able to install them. You will not "need" to re-gear but you may want to...honestly, you many want to eventually anyway. there are plenty of people here running 3" lifts with 35s who have done zero other mods. As for the gas mileage concerns that have been expressed...it will be minimal and let's be honest, it's a Jeep...did you really buy it because it was economical??? Just my .02 .
