I run D rated tires on my rig. 2 door with no backseat, no aftermarket bumpers, and soft top (3800 lb).
The dealer pumped them up to 47psi. I ran them for a while and didn't notice anything really. But.... on the highway, you will have a bone jarring ride and the rear end likes to skip sideways. I noticed something was wrong right there, and went straight to my tires and aired them down to my usual 32psi. Ah... smooth ride once again.
I plan on getting new tires in a bit and all the choices I want are E rated. And I don't even think twice about it.
