yes definately. No problem. You may need a spacer depending on how wide of a tire you get. From the weight, you may notice occassional 'clunk' from the tail gate moving up and down slightly.

From someone who ran a supremely heavy 35" Toyo MT with weighty steel wheel on the stock carrier for over a year with no problems...yes, you'll be fine!

I carry a 33" Nitto Trail Grappler on a stock Moab wheel with out issue.
If you don't use a spacer or trim the rubber bump stops or really force the tire against then to get the lug nuts on.

I have a 35x12.5x15 on my stock tire carrier at the moment, until I upgrade. The 3.75 backspacing my wheels have helped it fit nicely. Third brake light is still completely visible
