Default 33" spare tire needs to be spaced out 1/2"

Today I had my Duratrac 275/70/18 (33") spare put on and it slightly rubs on the bumper when closed. I'd say a 1/2" is about all I need to clear it so what's my options to make this a DIY job?
Also, with those spare tire spacer brackets (MBRP, Teraflex...) are the factory tailgate bump stops still functional?

I am not aware of a spacer that is that thin, but if you can stay within the reach of the studs, you could use something like washers.

Or you could use a traditional spacer which are available in widths as narrow as 1".

In either case you will need longer bumpstops. Daystar makes a solution for this.
