Life's too short to spend the money on and drive a good mileage beater. I recommend getting what you want, doing it right the first time, and get your 35's now and regear, too. 315 70 17 Duratracs are light and quiet. Regearing mine ($500-800 per axle) made a WORLD of difference in power and also improved gas mileage due to the engine not having to work so hard against wind at freeway speed. A leveling kit or 2-2.5" budget boost would clear them
My goal is to be able to run 35s, without too much more caution on the trail. The need for a regear isn't as important of a detail as the amount of stress a 35 at will exert opposed to a 33" mt My beater is also my 240sx that I'm in the process of doing a turbo upgrade and rebuild on, so I'm trying to keep the spending at a minimum on my jeep at this moment, while getting a better ride quality. 6 months ago, I was saying yolo with jeep parts, hence steel 15x8 and cheap mudders, but now I am definitely kicking myself for taking what was at the time, the most bang for the buck.
