33" GY Duratracs = Big loss of highway power
#12
I put on 33" duratracs too. I lost SOME power, but I can still fly on the highway. Yeah, I have to downshift at times, but I cruise on flat highways at 75 mph in 6th gear running about 1,900 rpm (I think..) I think its just fine for now. I do plan on getting 4.56 gears when I move up to 35s, so I can keep my highway mileage good.
I ran a little test and running hilly highways leaving it in 5th nets me about .3 extra mpg, say opposed to shifting back and forth b/w 5th and 6th.
EDIT: my jeep runs a catback and intake and even when stock, it made a BIG difference in highway power. I also do not run a back seat in my Jeep, so its like 50 lbs lighter.
