Default 32s with 4.88 to 35s with 4.88s will my mpg go up?

So I am overgeared at the moment. I have 32s with 4.88 gears on my 6spd. I will be putting on 35s soon. Since my RPMs are a bit high on the highway, will the lower cruseing RPMs with 35s actually increase my MPG? Or will the lower rpms just offset the added weight, keeping my mileage the same?

EDIT:
My MPG went to 17.65 average over two tanks. Calculated by math, not the trip computer.

35's, 4.88's and a 6 speed is a perfect combination. Your mileage will improve without a doubt.

If you have some good notes on your fuel mileage with the 32s and 4.88s it will be great to see the comparative data when you go to 35s. My guess is you'll see a modest increase in economy, but certainly no where near what the drop in rpms suggest.

Keep us posted, as it's not often that someone has their gears before their plus size tires.

FYI I am getting high 16s to low 17s with the 32 BFG ATs (on half mountain roads and half freeway commute). I also have on a AEM CAI and Screaming Demon coil and wires. I will let you guys know what my MPGs go to after I get my tax return and tires (going with the wildpeaks)

Thanks! It's very much appreciated. Certainly a single case will be limited in what it will substantiate, but there are plenty of cases that have tires first and then do gears. Again I think you are going to see a very modest improvement in efficiency which all said simply furthers that rpms aren't the real killer of fuel mileage.
