Default 315/75 R16 on stock steel wheels

Has anyone run 315/75 r 16 (34.8's) one stock steel wheels with spacers? Im really not into spending money on aftermarket wheels, that’s why I’m running my Moab’s with my 35x12.50 R17 now. It seams that the price of R17 has shot up about 500 buck since I got my last set. Ill be going in to get a new 4 door JK soon and If I can run the 315/75 R16's on the stock 16" steel wheels I would like to try and nock some cost of the new jeep and the Tires I would be getting soon after.

Thanks

Nate

ps Pictures would be great too.

Here you go, and personally I run 31 psi in front and 28 in the rear. You can play around with it but that is so far the best I have gotten for the tires to wear right. Off road on rocks I run 12 psi and I've dropped it as low as 8 psi in the sand and no problems

A 315 is like a 13" class tire. You're going to run that on a 7" wheel?

Save for the after market wheels... Spacers dangerous.

Im not a rock crawler guy anymore. More Expadition camping so low pressure in the tires is not as big a deal from me.

wheel spacers are only dangerous if not installed right and checked on every tire rotation

They'll "fit" but they won't wear right on road. To get the all the tread to contact the road you'll have to run pretty low pressures. That will cost you tire wear and handling, as well as MPG. I have 8" wide wheels with my 315's and I run 28 PSI on road. The 7.25" steelies will require even lower pressures to touch the road.

Saving money by burning up tires and fuel doesn't make sense to me.

Not to hijack this thread, but I've got a set of 315/75R16 BFG ATs on ProComp 7069 black wheels for sale in the classifieds on here. Check them out if you like. I'm also in Texas.
