Default 3" lift with no driveline angle problems

I just need some reassurance with my lift by hearing other people who have 2.5"-3" lifts with no driveline angle problems. Its been stressing me out thinking i might blow up my transfer case because of the lift.

You've got a couple things confused here. You will have driveline issues, but it will probably be a ways down the road. With your 4dr you'll be more likely to experience issues with the front driveshaft than the rear.

Now on to part two- vibes and blowing up your tcase comes from the u-joints phasing. If you keep the rzeppa's where they belong then you shouldn't fear the grenading case.

Your problem will more than likely come from the front driveshaft, the CV boot will usually tear from the increased angle then spin all the grease out which will end up killing your driveshaft.

As mentioned in your previous thread, you need to crawl underneath and visually inspect that boot (on the joint at the tcase) as part of normal maintenance. If/when you see grease spitting out, you can decide what, if anything, you want to do about it.

The tcase explosions are a different issue. They seem to be caused by a combination of separate things, which includes an aftermarket double cardan driveshaft.

The boot will most likely tear not from the angle, but by contact with the drivetrain pans (automatic trans pan most commonly).

If you want to stay safe, get a 2.5" kit. Otherwise, just keep it in mind and carry a $100 OEM replacement boot kit from Jeep if you want to be 110% assured

Is there another way to solve the problem before it happens? So you don't recommend a long double cardan front DS?

Remove the driveshaft or go aftermarket which fixes the problem.

or carry spare parts and learn how to fix it when it happens

What type of aftermarket part? Double cardan extended?

@ 2.5"-3" lift you'll be fine for now if you're still running a stock front driveshaft. When that stock front driveshaft finally gives or the stock rzeppa joint fails, you can do 1 of the following:

1. Replace the failed stock rzeppa joint with the Teraflex Rzeppa kit...
2. Or go aftermarket Teraflex dual Rzeppa driveshaft (or maybe a Tatton with Rzeppa)...
3. Or go aftermarket 1310 (or 1350) double cardan....

If you go route 3 (or plan to go this route in the future), I would take on a cheap insurance policy for the transfer case. That policy being the RSE brace since pretty much all of the transfer case implosions I know of are front aftermarket double cardan driveshaft related:

Which is the route I took on my Sahara....
