so how much you talking to fix this problem? could help me determine what size lift to get! Oh, and is this on 4 dr, 2dr, or both with autos?

just lose the clamp and safety wire clamp the boot in place. The safety wire would be no more thicker than than the rubber lip that appears not to hit.

If you are wondering wtf I am talking about: remove the old clamp, wrap stainless safety wire twice around the boot where the clamp was, twist the ends till snug, clip the extra and fold flat. Yo can do another one if it needs more clamping.

Tha'ts how we used to give extra hold power to our dirt bike hand grips. Safety wire

I was trying to think of a lower profile clamp!

I looked at mine this weekend, I guess my clamp is missing also. It seems like a tight fit on the boot. I dont think it's going anywhere without a clamp.

It doesn't matter, my HAD cv shafts on my XJ never came with boots.

The plate is a different issue. This is caused by the bolt on the case.
