Default 3.8L custom engine work?

Has anyone done or know of anyone doing strokers or custom engine work for the 3.8? Would it even be worth it? I've looked at Hesco and Golen's websites, but they are not offering anything yet. Hesco does offer a super charger, but I was wondering if anyone knew of anything else other than the 18K+ hemi options.

I am just trying to see the options out there. The 3.8 does have more HP than the 4.0, although at higher RPM's, yet the 4.0 has stroker options, so I was wondering if that is really an option with the 3.8.

I would like to be able to pull a boat of some sort (fish/ski vs pontoon), a pull behind camper that sleeps 6, etc., and just not digging the 18K price tag for the hemi. I guess I could always buy a V8 truck and keep the jeep as is (cheaper than 18K on a swap).

Most modern day crankshafts can be offset ground to lengthen the stroke. I've done it a lot. It all depends on the crank. Should be fairly easy to find someone to make a piston.....or it may be possible to match it up with another application. There are so many different engines being built, I would think there's gotta be one with the proper bore and stroke parameters. United Engine would probably be a good place to start. They make Keith Black pistons. All that being said, I don't think you'll see gains doing major engine work anywhere like you will if you do some custome head work.Porting the intake side and porting and polishing the exhaust side and polishing the combustion chambers would probably wake it up. Of course, you'd likely need some better injectors to help it meet it's potential. Good quality head work could give that magic 50 HP we're all wanting. I don't think it will ever be down low in the RPM range though, because....let's face reality. It's just a 3.8.

Yea I dont think there is too much you can do to the motor. Whats the real kicker.....18k for a fu**ing hemi. Man they have to be smoking crack. Get real...most of that money goes to them for rhd the wiring harness, to be able to work with the stock ecu. Even so....that is by far the biggest rip off ive ever heard of. Shit for 18k, you could have three hemi's, sorry for the rant, but that is just unbelievable.
